Notice of Road Closure

Trapper Road (BLM 1114) is closed until further notice between the town of Shell and Alkali Road due to a cave-in. Failure of the strata underlying the road has caused a dangerous hole that is several feet wide and very deep. Road material around the hole is extremely unstable and continues to slough away. Federal civil engineers and geologists will be evaluating the problem on Thursday. Travelers are advised to heed barricades and avoid the area.
