I'm not sure how it works on PC's, but on my mac I also have to 
delete (without opening) the attached file -- otherwise it gets 
stored in an attachment folder on my hard drive ); so yes, delete the 
messages, but be sure, too, that you're getting rid of the 
attachments and not leaving them somewhere on your computer

and don't open them.  one PC virus site is at
