Standing Committee on Training Task Group to Update the SACO Participants'
Manual
Background
As part of its ongoing responsibility to maintain PCC supporting documentation,
the Standing Committee on Training regularly considers materials for review
and revision. At the most recent SCT meeting (ALA Midwinter, January 2005),
the SACO Participants' Manual was suggested as a candidate for review at this
time. Members felt that changes in the SACO program and the typical updates
required to keep documentation current necessitate a fresh look at the manual.
The manual was first issued in 2001. The original edition's author, Adam Schiff,
has agreed that the manual needs revision and has offered to work on a task
group to update its contents.
Charge
The Group is charged to:
- Assess the current SACO Participants' Manual, taking into account:
- Changes made to the SACO program in the last year
- Errors or clarifications in the present edition
- Comments and feedback received from users of the manual
- Prepare a revised version of the documentation for review by the SCT and
appropriate LC staff.
