Research Project: INCREASED PROFITS FOR SUSTAINABLY PRODUCED GARLIC Project Number: 5402-21000-012-05
Project Type: Reimbursable

Start Date: Apr 01, 2005
End Date: Dec 31, 2009

Objective:
Correlate the yield and qualities of 10 distinct garlic cultivars with growth environment, inputs, quality, and chemical composition data.

Approach:
We will compare yield, quality, and uniformity of 10 genetically unique garlic types grown in replicated plots at 11 farms across the US. We will identify plasticity of numerous phenotypic traits and determine how growth environment affects medium-term storage characteristics of garlic bulbs.
