Take Pride in America and the National Park Service
The Take Pride In America Initiative is a national campaign to encourage Federal, state, and local public and private partnerships and volunteer service organizations to protect public parks, recreation areas, and natural and cultural resources. Its primary focus will be to encourage citizen stewards to dedicate time and service to help protect and restore their resources and facilities.

The National Park Service has taken an active role in Take Pride in America since its re-launch in 2002 by former Secretary of the Interior, Gale Norton. NPS sites hold special Take Pride in America volunteer activities where much needed work is accomplished while people learn more about their natural and cultural resources. You can visit the on-line events calendar to find out what upcoming activities might interest you.
