Fargo ND 58105

Mission:
The mission of the Cereal Crops Research Unit is to provide basic knowledge and improved germplasm for developing, maintaining, and improving hard red spring wheat, durum wheat, barley, and oat. Geneticists, pathologists, food technologists, and chemists investigate the genetics of disease resistance, lodging resistance, other agronomic traits, and the many quality factors of wheat, barley, and oat. They develop germplasm and genetic stocks useful in genetic analyses and in breeding of improved varieties and investigate quality of cereal grains for end product use.
