Welcome to the Bacterial Epidemiology and Antimicrobial Resistance Research Unit web site.  BEAR is part of the United States Department of Agriculture at the Russell Research Center in Athens, Georgia.

Our overall goal is to assess and determine the etiologic fraction of resistance that may be attributed to the uses of antimicrobials in animal production which impacts human health.
