Old Spanish National Historic Trail
Park Planning

The Bureau of Land Management and National Park Service, together with interested partners, have started a public planning process to develop a Comprehensive Management Plan and Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the Old Spanish National Historic Trail.

These documents will provide guidance for resource protection and visitor use along the trail. The planning process is expected to last several years.

You may obtain planning process updates at a website dedicated to the project.

A report with details of the 120-day scoping period (January-May 2006) is now available. A short summary is available in a newsletter.
