FHIAP
The Family Health Insurance Assistance Program (FHIAP) relies heavily on insurance agents to explain health plans to people who are approved for individual market subsidies. These FHIAP members select coverage from a list of high-quality health plans offered by a variety of insurance companies.
An agent will:
- Explain the different costs of monthly premiums, deductibles, co-insurance, and co-payments and help select a plan that fits a family's needs.
- Speed the process. An agent will have applications to the different insurance companies and can help people apply.
- Help people who are turned down for insurance because of a health condition or have a condition that allows them to apply directly to the high-risk Oregon Medical Insurance Pool (OMIP).
- Answer questions about what is covered under the different FHIAP-approved plans.
