Office of the Chief Information Officer The Chief Information Officer (CIO) has specific responsibilities for implementation of the Clinger-Cohen Act. Additional laws related to CIO duties include the Paperwork Reduction Act, the Computer Security Act of 1987 as amended, and other laws, regulations, and guidance. The Secretary of Labor sets priorities and provides guidance for the overall efforts of CIO programs. Specific areas of responsibility of the CIO include:
