Services
During the 1970s when the Cherokee Nation began implementing self-determination
and delivering services to its constituents, the tribe's organizational
structure was mirrored after the federal government. The Cherokee Nation
organizational structure and both the number of programs and complexity of the
programs have grown dramatically. Our funding has increased over 300% and
the tribal members we serve have doubled in the last ten years. Many
Parts of our organization and processes have not evolved nor kept pace with the
change in the environment. This too shall change.
