First Deputy Attorney General Lisa M. Ginoza

Lisa M. Ginoza was raised in Kailua, Hawaii where she attended Hawaii’s public schools and graduated with valedictorian honors from Kailua High School.  Ms. Ginoza graduated with highest distinction from Oregon State University, with a B.S. degree in Political Science and a minor in Economics.  She received her law degree from the William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawaii, where she was a Casenote Author and Casenotes Editor on the Law Review.  After law school, Ms. Ginoza received an appointment as Law Clerk to the Honorable Samuel P. King, Senior Judge, United States District Court for the District of Hawaii.

Following her clerkship, Ms. Ginoza joined the law firm of McCorriston Miller Mukai MacKinnon LLP, where her practice focused on civil litigation, including first-party insurance litigation, personal injury litigation, commercial and contract disputes, employment related litigation and products liability cases.  Ms. Ginoza’s practice involved work at all court levels, including the Hawaii Supreme Court, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court, as well as cases handled through administrative hearing process.  Ms. Ginoza also has handled many cases through alternative dispute resolution such as arbitration and mediation, and has served as court-appointed arbitrator in a variety of matters.  While in private practice, Ms. Ginoza also taught and lectured, including serving as an Adjunct Professor of Appellate Advocacy at the William S. Richardson School of Law.
