Cyrus S. Ching: pioneer in industrial peacemaking

of the material in this article is drawn from an oral history of Cyrus S. Ching, as
related by Ching in a series of interviews with John Truesdale, September 1965-December
1967, and from an oral memoir recorded by Ching in August 1965.
As a manager and later as a government executive, Ching pointed the way to a cooperative system of labor relations by showing that differences are much more easily resolved when reason, rather than rancor, prevails. This article profiles the career of Cyrus S. Ching, recently inducted into the Labor Hall of Fame.
