|
Parts of the Southeast were wet during August while other areas were dry. This month marked the third consecutive month in which rainfall averaged near normal for the region as a whole. However, long-term conditions remained dry, with September 2001-August 2002 signalling the fourth consecutive September-August with below-normal precipitation.
