Customer Satisfaction Survey 2005

Go to bottom

Dear BEA Customer:

The Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) is committed to providing high-quality products and services that meet your needs. Your participation in our annual customer satisfaction survey will help us achieve this goal.

In last year's survey, BEA maintained a high customer satisfaction score of 4.3 on a 5-point scale. The survey also identified areas for improvement. In response to these findings, BEA has:

  • Improved the accuracy of the Nation's economic accounts through such improvements as a new pilot quarterly survey of U.S. trade in services;
  • Strengthened relevance of BEA data by expanding regional data from 318 to 934 micropolitan and metropolitan areas;
  • Accelerated the release of state personal income by 1 month, the annual input-output accounts by 2 years, and, on an experimental basis, gross state product by 6 months;
  • Provided more online documentation of source data and methodologies;
  • Improved the BEA Web site by providing a new "Overview of the U.S. Economy" that provides fingertip access to key economic indicators and one-page, plain-language summaries of key economic data;
  • Launched a search engine on www.bea.gov that combines advanced search capabilities with a clustering feature that groups results into logical categories; and
  • Launched an e-mail subscription service, accessible from www.bea.gov, to notify users of BEA news releases and announcements.

To help us continue to meet your needs, BEA would appreciate your taking the time to complete this year’s survey. Responses are confidential. You may either fill out and mail the attached survey by July 8, 2005, or you may access the online survey at www.bea.gov. The survey should take approximately 15 minutes.

Thank you for taking the time to help us in this effort.

Sincerely,

J. Steven Landefeld
