Each of these areas encompasses a large manmade lake and its surrounding terrain. This National Recreation Area is a Mecca for outdoor activities including camping, fishing, swimming, paddling, boating, backpacking, horseback riding, mountain biking, off-roading and hunting.......

Driving Directions:
From northbound Interstate 5, take the Mt. Gate/Wonderland Blvd., Exit (#687). Turn right (east) onto Old Oregon Trail.

From southbound Interstate 5, take the Mt. Gate/Wonderland Blvd., Exit (#687). Turn left and cross over the freeway overpass.

In either case, now take the next right (south) on Holiday Road and travel 1/4 mile. The Shasta Lake Ranger Station is on the left and the Shasta Lake Visitor Information Center is on the right.

Driving Directions:
From Redding, take Highway 299 west towards Eureka for 48 miles. The station is located on the left side of Highway 299 after you've passed through most of the town of Weaverville.

From Eureka, take Highway 299 east towards Redding for 110 miles. The station is located on the right side of Highway 299 as you enter the town of Weaverville.
