Peyton T. Hairston Jr.

Peyton Hairston, TVA's senior vice president of Corporate Responsibility and Diversity, is the designated federal officer for the Regional Resource Stewardship Council. In that capacity he ensures that proper public notice is given of all council meetings, represents TVA at those meetings, and ensures that the minutes and other council records are available to the public.

Hairston also serves as the TVA's external ombudsman and its chief ethics and compliance officer. His previous positions at TVA include senior vice president of Communications and of Labor Relations.

Hairston joined TVA in 1993 after serving as senior labor counsel for Chiquita Brands International. A native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, he earned a B.A. degree at North Carolina State University and a law degree at Wake Forest.
