IV. SPECIAL HANDLING AND WORKER PRECAUTIONS FOR STORAGE AND FIELD APPLICATION |
1. Flammability: WMI-2000 is non-flammable. 2. Ventilation: Avoid breathing dust or aerosol due to possibility of sensitization. Use adequate ventilation. 3. Skin and eye contact; protective clothing; treatment in case of contact: Minimize contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. Wash hands thoroughly after handling culture. 4.a. Maximum storage temperature: 100ºF 4.b. Minimum storage temperature: 35ºF 4.c. Optimum storage temperature range: 45ºF - 90ºF Store in a cool, dry location. Keep partially-used containers tightly closed. Prolonged exposure to high temperature and humidity may lower activity of product. 4.d. Temperatures of phase separations and chemical changes: NA |
V. SHELF LIFE |
The shelf life of WMI-2000 is 2 years if stored at ambient temperatures |
VI. RECOMMENDED APPLICATION PROCEDURE |
1. Application Method: The culture should be activated for 2 hours in water, when applicable. Conditions for use vary depending on substrate concentration and type, pH, temperature, availability of nutrients, oxygen content, and liquid medium (static or flowing). 2. Concentration/Application Rate: Inoculation concentration is 5-9 billion spores per gram. 3. Conditions for Use: Temperature requirements are between 35ºF and 100ºF. The optimum dissolved oxygen content is 2 ppm at the sludge-to-water interface. Nitrogen and phosphorous are key nutrients which promote cultural growth, and should be maintained at concentrations of 15-20 ppm and 2.5-5 ppm, respectively. The optimum pH range is between 7.0 and 8.0. |
