DMV eases requirements for proving current legal name
Sample driver license image
Effective September 15, 2008 a person renewing or replacing an Oregon driver license or identification card may prove current legal name by showing the name on their existing driver license or identification card. Other documents that prove identity - shown in OAR 735-062-0020 - may also be used. This change should help many Oregonians who have had difficulty providing proof of full legal name due to a name change or multiple name changes through marriage or for other reasons.
