Wal-Mart is teaming up with the Partnership for Food Safety Education's Fight BAC!-- campaign to get consumers
thinking about safety when they're thinking about food. This weekend, Wal-Mart Supercenters throughout the country will
provide customers with tips and tools to help them "Fight BAC!"-- against harmful foodborne bacteria when
preparing meals at home for their families.
The goal of the alliance between Wal-Mart and the Partnership for Food Safety Education is to empower consumers to take action against foodborne illness.
Copies of the Partnership for Food Safety Education press release, 'Was Foodborne Bacteria an Uninvited Guest at Last Night's Dinner?' and Facts About "Fighting BAC" are provided.
The Partnership, formed in 1997, is a public-private coalition dedicated to educating the public about safe food handling to help reduce foodborne illness. Members represent industry, government and consumer groups, as well as alliances with corporate America. FDA is a member of the Partnership.
