Volunteer Voices
Here is a test to find whether your mission on earth
is finished: if you are alive, it isn’t.

TYPES OF VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers come in a variety of ages, physical abilities and experience levels. An individual who enjoys hiking refuge trails or bird watching may want to give something back to the place where they recreate. Friends groups or other groups organize volunteers and volunteer events. Some refuges offer internships for those that are looking for something interesting to do during their summer vacation or upon completing college.
Regardless of the type of volunteer, they all have something in common: volunteers want to help protect the natural and cultural resources of refuges.
IN THEIR OWN WORDS
Volunteers speak better on volunteering than anyone else. Find out what volunteers around the country have to say about their experience. Why do they do it? What do they get out of it? What challenges do they face?
