Rodney A. Maile

Since its creation in 1978, the Office of Administrative Hearings has provided contested case hearings for all administrative matters within the jurisdiction of the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs.

In fulfilling our responsibilities to provide fair and impartial contested case hearings in a professional and timely manner, we have adopted the same professional and ethical standards that are followed by the judiciary, and are continuously updating our professional training, as well as our procedures.

Pursuant to the directives of Governor Linda Lingle and Lt. Governor James Aiona, the Office of Administrative Hearings has embarked upon a very substantial effort to place all of the decisions and resource materials of the Office of Administrative Hearings on-line, as well increasing the opportunities for the electronic filing and processing of documents.

As we continue to improve the contested case hearings process, our efforts will always be guided by our primary responsibilities of fairness and professionalism.

Rodney A. Maile
Senior Hearings Officer
