International Programs utilizes US Forest Service expertise in disaster assistance, planning and mitigation for natural and human caused disasters around the world.

There are two main disaster programs:

• The Disaster Assistance Support Program (DASP) provides disaster prevention, preparedness, and response expertise to U.S. relief efforts overseas. It is funded entirely by the US Agency for International Development's Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance.
