TVA Seeks Public Comment on Environmental Review of Transmission Improvements

EAGLEVILLE, Tenn. – TVA will hold an informational meeting to seek public comment on a draft environmental impact statement for a proposed 500-kilovolt substation in Rutherford County and associated transmission lines in Rutherford, Williamson, and Maury counties.

The meeting will be held from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, at the Eagleville High School, 500 Hwy 99, in Eagleville.

TVA staff will be available to discuss issues relating to the project including the environmental review, archeological and historical impacts, water quality, recreation, social and economic resources, visual impacts, land-based and aquatic plants and animals and rare species.

Comments on the draft EIS may be submitted by mail to Anita Masters at TVA NEPA Services, 1101 Market St., LP 5U, Chattanooga, TN, 37402, by telephone at (423) 751-8697 or by email at tvainfo@tva.com (Attn: Anita Masters). The draft EIS is available through TVA’s website or by contacting Masters. Comments may also be submitted through the website. Comments should be submitted by Nov. 20.
