This image shows another close-up view of the profile of CALIPSO total attenuated backscatter from 2006-06-15. The view is looking eastward over eastern India. The Himalayan Mountains are on the left. The near- horizontal line in the foreground marks the 90 degree east longitude.   3366   CALIPSO Profile over China, India and Bhutan
This image is a wide-angle view of the profile of CALIPSO total attenuated backscatter from 2006-06-15. The view is looking eastward across China to the Yellow Sea and the Korean Peninsula.    3365   CALIPSO Profile over China
The short version of the Cryosphere Tour, with narration and music.   3355   A Short Tour of the Cryosphere
Full version with audio and annotations   3354   27 Storms: Arlene to Zeta
MODIS snow cover and sea ice surface temperature in the Northern Hemisphere from September 1, 2002 through May 31, 2003.   3353   Terra/Aqua MODIS: Snow Cover and Sea Ice Surface Temperature
This animation shows the temperature of the sea ice surface in the Arctic during 2002-2003.   3345   Sea Ice Surface Temperature with Alternate Color Scale (WMS)
Viewing a full rotation of the Meteor Crater, this animation shows the detailed topography of the site.   3335   Meteor Crater Topography
This animation starts with a global view of the earth and zooms down to the Meteor Crater in Arizona.   3334   Zoom to the Meteor Crater, Arizona
This animation shows the motion of the sea ice over the Arctic from 1/1/2005 through 12/31/2005.    3333   2005 Sea Ice over the Arctic derived from AMSR-E
Final animation composite showing both land-based photographs of seasonal vegetation change alongside satellite data of NDVI over the United States. The animation first starts with photographs of Tamarisk at the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument in Utah. These photos then cycle through time showing the changing seasons. They then pull away to reveal NDVI data over the western U.S. The NDVI data continues to cycle through the seasons in synchronization with the photos. Finally, the cycling NDVI data is combined with land cover classification data to create the Tamarisk suitability map.   3332   Deriving the Tamarisk Suitability Map: The Complete Story
NDVI (in shades of green) is the topmost dataset. EVI (in shades of red, orange, and brown) is the middle layer. Landcover (in shades of yellow, orange, and green) is the bottommost layer.   3331   Creating the Tamarisk Habitat Suitability Map (for Science Presentations)
The Annual Vegetation Cycle data (in shades of green) is the topmost dataset in this image. The MODIS Landcover Classification data (in shades of yellow, orange, and green) is the bottommost dataset in this image.   3330   Creating the Tamarisk Habitat Suitability Map (for General Use)
This animation shows seasonal landcover changes over Northeastern China (left) and Southeastern Russia (right), viewed from the vantage point of the Sea of Japan. The black line marks the border between China and Russia.   3278   Seasonal Landcover Change over Eastern Asia in 2004
This animation shows seasonal landcover change over the Nile delta in 2004. Three yearly cycles are shown, displayed at a rate of two months per second.   3277   Seasonal Landcover Change over the Nile Delta in 2004
This still image shows a global view of landcover in June 2004.   3273   2004 Global Vegetation from Blue Marble Next Generation
This animation shows a global rotation of seasonal changes in landcover. Landcover fades from month to month, and is displayed at a rate of two months per second.   3272   Global Seasonal Landcover in 2004
This animation shows how the landcover changes with the seasons as we fly over the Eastern United States, from Florida to Maine.   3271   Seasonal Landcover Change over the Eastern United States
This animation zooms into Northern Italy and shows seasonal landcover over the Alps and surrounding regions.   3270   Seasonal Landcover Change over the Alps
This animation shows landcover changes as we zoom over Western Asia.   3269   Seasonal Landcover Change over Western Asia in 2004
This image shows the September minimum sea ice concentration in the Arctic in 2004 compared with a line (in red) indicating the 1979-2002 mean September 15% sea ice concentration.   3241   2004 September Minimum Sea Ice Concentration
These images show the minimum extent of sea ice in the northern hemisphere. There are several images available, including a transparent overlay, a background image from NASA's Blue Marble, and a composite image.   3186   Minimum Sea Ice Extent (WMS)
This animation shows the average snow cover for a given month over a 23-year period. The frames provide a transparent overlay. A background image taken from NASA's Blue Marble is also provided.   3185   Monthly Snow Climatology, 1979-2002 (WMS)
