GOV. RITTER SET TO VISIT COLORADO SPRINGS AND PUEBLO AS PART OF STATEWIDE OUTREACH TOUR

Gov. Bill Ritter is scheduled to visit Colorado Springs and Pueblo this evening and Saturday as he continues his statewide, summer-fall outreach tour.

Tonight, the Governor will be attending the celebration of the newly renovated Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center and the State Games of America swimming competition.

On Saturday, Gov. Ritter will help re-open a Colorado Civil Rights Office in Pueblo, meet with the Pueblo Visioning Group, visit the Pueblo County Fair and attend the Pueblo Hispanic Education Foundation's annual awards banquet.

Here is the complete two-day schedule:

Friday, Aug. 3 (Colorado Springs)


5 p.m. to 6 p.m.:
Gov. Ritter will deliver remarks at the Extremely Grand Opening ceremony for the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center. The Center is celebrating a $30 million expansion and renovation.

Location: 30 W. Dale St., Colorado Springs.

6:15 p.m. to 7 p.m.:
Gov. Ritter will attend the 2007 State Games of America swim competition. Featuring 29 different Olympic sports, the State Games competition is held every two years. About 10,500 athletes from 47 states are competing this year in host city Colorado Springs.

Location: Olympic Training Center Aquatics Center, 1 Olympic Plaza.

Saturday, Aug. 4 (Pueblo)

11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.:
Gov. Ritter will attend the re-opening ceremony of the Colorado Civil Rights Regional Office in Pueblo, which will be sharing offices with the Pueblo Human Relations Commission.

Location: The celebration begins at the Pueblo Union Depot, 132 W. "B" Street. Following festivities at the Depot, guests will proceed to the new office, located adjacent to the Depot, at 200 W. "B" Street, Suite 234 for the ribbon cutting.

1 p.m. to 3 p.m.:
Gov. Ritter will participate in a roundtable discussion with the Pueblo Visioning Group, a gathering of leaders from every local government agency in the Pueblo area. Today's meeting follows last month's Pueblo Visioning Retreat, which established long-term community goals of improved education, economic development and quality of life.

Location: Pueblo Convention Center, 320 Central Main St., Pueblo.

4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.:
Gov. Ritter will deliver remarks and distribute awards at the Pueblo County Fair.

Location: Colorado State Fairgrounds, 1001 Beulah Ave.

6 p.m. to 7 p.m.:
Gov. Ritter will deliver remarks at the 19th annual Pueblo Hispanic Education Foundation awards and scholarship banquet.
