GOV. RITTER MAKES SIX NOMINATIONS TO AG COMMISSION
Gov. Bill Ritter has nominated six people from around Colorado to serve on the State Agricultural Commission. The nominees are:
- Alex C. Gerace of Denver to serve as an unaffiliated representative from the First Agricultural District, to a seat effective June 11, 2007 for a term expiring March 1, 2009.
- Barbara L. Marty of Henderson to serve as a Republican representative from the First Agricultural District, to a seat effective June 11, 2007, for a term expiring March 1, 2011.
- Ernest D. Ford of Center to serve as a Democrat representative from the Third Agricultural District, to a seat effective June 11, 2007, for a term expiring March 1, 2011.
- Penny H. Lewis of Kremmling to serve as a Republican representative from the Fourth Agricultural District, reappointed to her seat effective June 11, 2007, for a term expiring March 1, 2011.
- Thomas K. Cameron of Palisade to serve as a Democrat representative from the Fourth Agricultural District, to a seat effective June 11, 2007, for a term expiring March 1, 2011.
- John W. Singletary of Pueblo to serve as a Democrat representative and at-large member, to a seat effective June 11, 2007, for a term expiring March 1, 2011.
All of the nominations to the nine-member commission require Senate confirmation. The commission formulates policy with respect to the management of the Department of Agriculture. The commission also advises and makes recommendations to the Governor and General Assembly.
