“Any resident is eligible to use the card,” says Commissioner Archuleta. “ There is no enrollment, no fee, no restriction or limits on use. Several pharmacies participate in the program and the average discount for a prescription is 20 percent and up to 50 percent on generic brands, a substantial savings for working families with small children and those living on a fixed income who do not have access to prescription drug coverage through health insurance. With the number of residents who are uninsured in our community, Bernalillo County is stepping forward to find innovative ways to assist.”
