Betsy Humphreys to Receive AAHSL Cornerstone Award

The Association of Academic Health Sciences Libraries president Logan Ludwig has announced that Betsy L. Humphreys, NLM Deputy Director, will receive the first AAHSL Cornerstone Award.

The press release announcing her award cites Ms. Humphreys' long and prestigious career and her strong support of academic medical libraries and the AAHSL, particularly the joint NLM/AAHSL Leadership program. "As a member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences, a Fellow of the American College of Medical Informatics, and a Distinguished Member of the Academy of Health Information Professionals, Ms Humphreys has provided notable and important contributions that have assisted AAHSL in achieving its mission and which have resulted in a significant impact on the profession of academic health sciences librarianship."

Ms. Humphreys will receive the award on October 30, 2006 during the AAHSL Annual Meeting at the AAMC Annual Meeting at the Seattle Sheraton Hotel.
