National Public Radio Features IVLP Alumnus

The International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) was prominently featured recently in an NPR story on American outreach to Muslim communities in France. As a part of her report, NPR correspondent Anita Elash interviewed Mr. Mohamed Hamidi, an educator and editor-in-chief of BondyBlog, a news source popular among minority young people and others attracted to its frank discussion about diversity issues in France. Mr. Hamidi participated in an International Visitor Leadership Program in 2008 that focused on U.S. policies and programs designed to build tolerance, protect civil rights, and promote participatory democracy. He also observed programs aimed at enhancing access to education for underserved youth.
