MONITORING
The National Forest Management Act requires monitoring of the implementation of Forest Plans. The Fremont and Winema National Forest Land and Resource Management Plans include formal monitoring plans. Each year, depending upon funding, the forest management team and resource specialists examine projects, gather and evaluate data, and prepare a monitoring report. Typically the report for a given fiscal year (October 1 through September 30) will be completed by the end of the next fiscal year. Thus, the 2003 report was completed in September 2004.
