GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS TO HOLD HEARING ON PROPOSED PERSONNEL CHANGES AT THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Senate Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman Susan Collins (R-ME) and Ranking Member Joe Lieberman (D-CT) today announced that on Wednesday, June 4, 2003, the committee will hold a hearing titled “Transforming the Department of Defense Personnel System: Finding the Right Approach.” The hearing will examine the department’s proposal to set up a new personnel system for its 735,000 civilian employees.
