Join New York in Celebration of Constitution Day

WHAT:

The National Archives in Washington, DC has the original Constitution on permanent display. This year, the National Archives programs in honor of Constitution Day, September 17, will extend far beyond one day and far beyond the Rotunda to reach thousands of citizens, teachers, and students nationwide.
  • September 13, 2005: Teaching With Documents: The U.S. Constitution, a teacher workshop from 4:30 - 6:00 PM

  • September 15, 2005: "Checks and Balances in the Age of Instant Messaging: A Congressional Perspective." This program is part of a live webcast from Washington, DC starting at 7:00PM

  • September 16, 2005: "Free Speech in the Digital Age," sponsored by NPR's "Justice Talking." This program is part of a live webcast from Washington DC starting at 1:30PM

Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., and the first Saturday of each month 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., excluding all Federal holidays.
