Illinois Corporations Sentenced for Defrauding Twin Buttes School
BISMARCK – United States Attorney Drew H. Wrigley announced that on
September 8, 2008, Global Networking Technology, Inc., of Gurnee, Illinois, and
Computer Training and Associates, Inc., of North Chicago, Illinois, through the
corporation representatives Tyrone Pipkin and Gloria Harper, pleaded guilty and the
corporations were sentenced before United States District Court Chief Judge Daniel L.
Hovland on a charge of mail fraud.

Two El Paso Businessman and their Companies Charged with
Conspiracy to Rig Bids and Allocate Customers
for Door and Hardware Installation
WASHINGTON - An El Paso, Texas, federal grand jury returned an indictment today, charging two El Paso-based companies and two of their top executives with conspiracy to rig bids and allocate customers for certain contracts to supply and install doors and hardware for construction projects in the El Paso area, the Department of Justice announced. One of the executives was also charged with obstruction of justice for his efforts to impede the federal grand jury investigation.

United States Reaches $1,750,000 Settlement with the District of Columbia to
Resolve Allegations Regarding Fraudulent Misuse of Federal Grant Funds
by the District of Columbia Public Schools
WASHINGTON, DC - The United States has reached a $1,750,000 settlement with the District of Columbia (“District”) to resolve allegations that the District of Columbia Public Schools (“DCPS”) falsely certified its eligibility to receive federal funds under the Migrant Education Program (“MEP”) and submitted or caused to be submitted false claims to the U.S. Department of Education for payment knowing that it was ineligible to receive MEP funds, U.S. Attorney Jeffrey A. Taylor and Mary Mitchelson, Deputy Inspector General of the U.S. Department of Education announced today.
