Great Lakes Region
We maintain three facilities–one in Chicago, Illinois and two in Dayton, Ohio. These offices work together to preserve and make available the documents created by Federal agencies in the Great Lakes Region. Navigate through our redesigned web site to learn about our services.
Regional Archives
Our Regional Archives has both a Microfilm Research Room and an Archival Research Room. We have extensive microfilm holdings for genealogy research and general historical interest.
Federal Records Centers
Our Chicago, Illinois and Dayton, Ohio facilities serve as Federal Records Centers, storing and servicing retired records for Federal agencies, including the courts, Defense Finance Accounting Service sites, and Internal Revenue Service Centers. We offer pick up and delivery and other special services, including agency retrieval.
Records Management Program
Our Records Management staff help Federal Government agencies manage information–hard copy and electronic–by offering disaster recovery, inventorying, direct assistance, retention schedules, a wide range of training opportunities, and advice on retention and disposal of records.
