SENATOR COLLINS STATEMENT ON RESIGNATION OF KAY COLES JAMES
 
WASHINGTON, DC--Senator Collins, who chairs the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, has released the following statement regarding the announcement that Kay Coles James, the Director of the Office of Personnel Management, will leave the office at the end of the month.

“Kay Coles James has been an outstanding leader of the Office of Personnel Management. She understood that federal employees are among our country’s best assets and valued their talents.

“She also worked tirelessly to ensure that the office operates as smoothly and efficiently as possible. She has an outstanding work ethic and knows how to think ‘outside of the box’ to come up with innovative solutions to address public policy challenges.

“ I consider Kay both a highly regarded professional as well as a personal friend. She has left a positive mark at OPM and will be missed.”
