| Una de las cinco partes o etapas del ciclo del sueño basadas en la actividad del cerebro que tiene lugar durante dicha etapa. Durante las etapas 1 a 4, la persona se sentirá somnolienta, quedará dormida y pasará a un sueño profundo sin soñar. La etapa 5 se llama sueño de movimientos oculares rápidos (MOR), y en esta etapa se presentan los sueños. Durante varias horas de sueño normal, una persona pasará por varias etapas de sueño, que incluyen el sueño MOR y las cuatro etapas de sueño sincronizado (sueño superficial a profundo). |
