TRAINING: No special training requirements have been identified for any documents issued with this change notice.

REMARKS:

IMC 1245 (Inspector Qualification Program For the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Inspection Program) has been revised to reflect the current NRR policy on training. Inspector classifications are now generic and three new inspector classifications have been added. Two of the new inspector classifications address technical staff who are not full-time inspectors, but who, on occasion, assist the program by performing inspections in a specialized technical area. The third new inspector classification is for decommissioning of reactors. For inspector staff that are currently qualified under the previous IMC 1245, no change is anticipated. IMC 1245, Appendix B, which provides the qualification journals is being revised and will be issued later.

IMC 1245, Appendix A (Training Requirements For Inspector Classifications) has been revised to reflect the addition of three new inspector classifications, and rename some inspector classifications to make them generic.
