Drug Safety Oversight Board Meeting

  • The Executive Director updated the Board on Public Health Advisories (PHAs) and Information for Healthcare Professionals (HCP) sheets posted since the June 19, 2008 meeting (all available at http://www.fda.gov/cder/drug/DrugSafety/DrugIndex.htm) and those in development.


  • The Board reviewed the outcome of a recent Advisory Committee meeting where additional data and analyses on the class of antiepileptic drugs and the risk of suicidality were discussed. An Information for Healthcare Professionals (HCP) sheet on this topic was posted in January 2008, which was based on the data available at that time.
