Webcast Focuses on Disaster Risk Management

The World Bank is sponsoring a live Webcast of a workshop on disaster risk management in the age of information. The goal is to increase awareness of how ICT can make disaster risk management projects more effective. The event is organized by the World Bank Global Information Communication and Technology Department, infoDev, Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery, and the Latin American Disaster Risk Management team. Vietnam Hosts Regional Forum for Country Gateways

Preparation of the Asia Pacific Country Gateways forum is under way and will take place in Hanoi from November 30 to December 5, 2008. The main objective is to capture and showcase experiences from across the network of Country Gateways and assess how these can be applied in different countries. It will also focus on creating an action plan outlining specific roles and responsibilities, and an appropriate framework for collaboration throughout the network.
