This 10-day course, which is a combination of two popular NHI pavement-courses, includes field visits to the Superpave Lab Center and to WesTrack, the state-of-the-art road testing facility. Under Development The finishing touches are being put on the three-day course Pavement Management Systems (Course #13135). Designed for managers and engineers in government agencies, this course outlines step-by-step how to develop, implement, use, and maintain a pavement management system. Interestingly, the creation of pavement management systems is a multidisciplinary process, bringing together individuals from functional areas such as policy, planning, and information technology. NHI expects to begin offering this course by fall of this year. Stay tuned. The course Hot-Mix Asphalt Materials, Characteristics, & Control (Course #13145) is being developed for government employees and contractors involved in the production and construction of hot-mix asphalt pavements. Government inspectors and managers of HMA pavement construction will find the course useful, as will contractors who work at production facilities and pavement lay-down sites.
