IBEX Orbit Visualization

The satellite spins as it orbits Earth so that over the course of six months, each sensor collects particles from every part of the sky. This allows the science team to build a global all-sky map every six months.
In this visualization, we see the orbit of the spacecraft orbit (green) in relation to the Earth, the orbit of the Moon (gray), and Sun.
