NPS Statement on the American Revolution Center

The NPS continues to believe that collaboration and not confrontation is the best way to operate a partnership.  A shared mission and shared values, as well as a willingnesss to compromise without disrespecting mission and values, also are fundamental to successful partnerships.  The NPS has consistently stated that we accept the idea of a museum-only on the parcel in question, with a firm commitment to permanent preservation of the rest of the site.  We continue to have serious concerns about the damaging effects of the ordinance as passed as well as the additional development proposed.

We still believe in the idea that the NPS and ARC can work together to bring a museum to fruition adjacent to the Welcome Center while also preserving the entire 78 acres as open space.  We invite ARC and the many stakeholders in the community to work with the NPS to make this idea a reality.
