MFLC Victim Advocacy (MFLC-VA) Services

At the end of 2007, the MFLC program expanded its offering to include Victim Advocacy services. MFLC Victim Advocacy (VA) works with the Family Advocacy Program to complement domestic violence services being delivered at select service installations and Family Justice Centers worldwide. MHNGS has provided victim advocacy services for the Department of Defense since 2004.

Our domestic violence advocacy capabilities include:

  • On-call response capability for after-duty hours, weekends and holidays
  • Safety planning to reduce and avoid repeat incidents and promote victim safety
  • Connecting victims with military and civilian support resources
  • Accompanying victims to military and civilian legal proceedings
  • Collaborating with military law enforcement and criminal investigation units
  • Supporting victims through emergency medical treatment
  • Encouraging victim empowerment and resiliency
  • Providing options to the victim to facilitate clear decision making and problem solving

The MFLC-VA Program works with existing military domestic violence services to support the DoD no-tolerance stance on domestic violence and provide victims of domestic violence with a resource for immediate and ongoing intervention and support.

The MFLC-VA Program is provided by licensed Clinical Social Workers and Clinical Counselors expert in providing support to victims of domestic violence.
