In news briefing on NASA TV, it was said that one of the improvements that NASA has done to prevent any disasters is that the shuttle will make a 180 degree pitch at about 500 meters from the ISS, and there will be pictures taken by two astronauts and one stationary camera within 30 seconds to view the rear side of the shuttle showing the thermal tiles.
