Carried-out NASA- and AFOSR-funded research on high resolution infrared laser spectroscopy with graduate and advanced undergraduate students. As a member of the NSF-funded Materials Science Research Center of Excellence, participated in interdisciplinary research involving thin film growth of III-V materials and the use of infrared laser spectroscopy as an in situ probe of chemical vapor deposition processes.

Member of the American Physical Society (APS), National Organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers (NOBCChE), and the American Chemical Society (ACS). Past-chair of the Committee on Minorities of the APS. Current member of the Committee on Minority Affairs of the ACS.
