GOV. RITTER ANNOUNCES NEW MOTION PICTURE TO BE FILMED AT U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY IN COLORADO SPRINGS

Gov. Bill Ritter announced today that SummitWorks LLC, an independent film production company based in Park City, Utah, has received approval by the Department of Defense to film its upcoming feature production, Bring Me Men, on the U.S. Air Force Academy installation in Colorado Springs.
Bring Me Men is the first motion picture to be approved by the Pentagon for filming at the United States Air Force Academy. Principal photography is slated for spring and summer 2008.
"Bring Me Men will chronicle the ordeals and triumphs of young Americans who voluntarily undergo the most rigorous challenges of military training, academic education, athletic competition and character development as they become officer leaders of character in the world's greatest Air Force," said Lt. Gen. John F. Regni, Superintendent of the United States Air Force Academy. "We look forward to working with the SummitWorks team in their efforts to showcase the Air Force Academy as one of our nation's toughest military schools and most prestigious institutions of higher learning."
Bring Me Men vividly tells the compelling story of the first female cadets who entered the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1976. Proving they could beat the odds, many of the first women cadets went on to excel in military and space careers following the 1980 graduation.
"The State of Colorado is proud to serve as host to the United States Air Force Academy," Gov. Ritter said. "We are glad that SummitWorks will be telling the inspiring story of the men and women who succeed in one of the most challenging academic and physical environments before going on to lead the United States Air Force in service to our nation."
SummitWorks began formulating the concept for Bring Me Men more than five years ago when Charles Morrison, co- producer of Bring Me Men, wrote the story, and teamed up with producer/director Frank E. Johnson (Touched by an Angel). In the past two years, they have worked closely with numerous approving officers at the Hollywood Air Force Entertainment Liaison Office, the United States Air Force Academy and the Department of Defense.
"It is an honor that the U.S. Air Force, the Assistant Secretary of Defense and the United States Air Force Academy are enthusiastic to bring this great story to the screen," Morrison said. "We look forward to working with the Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs Mayor Lionel Rivera, the residents of Colorado Springs and the Colorado Film Commission during this production."
