NEARLY 1,800 APPLY FOR POSITIONS WITHIN RITTER-O¿BRIEN ADMINISTRATION

Complete list of 300 Transition Committee members now posted

Nearly 1,800 people have submitted resumes seeking Cabinet- and director-level positions within the new Ritter-O'Brien Administration, Transition Team Executive Director Jim Lyons said Monday.

"We're extremely pleased with the depth and breadth of the candidates who are interested in being part of fulfilling Gov.-Elect Ritter's Colorado Promise," Lyons said.

The Transition Team, co-chaired by former state Sen. Norma Anderson and businessman Daniel Yohannes, had set today as an informal deadline for members of the public to submit resumes. Eighteen Transition Advisory Committees are reviewing the applications and are scheduled to submit final reports and short lists of finalists to Ritter by Dec. 15.

Ritter would like to have most of his Cabinet in place by his Jan. 9 swearing-in ceremony, but he said it's more important to make the right selection than just a speedy selection.

The 18 Transition Advisory Committees are composed of more than 300 people from around Colorado.
