Security Levels
Group Facilities Engineering (Public Works)
Group Engineering Department is broken into two branches to maintain and support the "Housing" and the "Facilities" of Group and Air Station Astoria. Facilities Engineering (formerly known as Public Works) provides a broad based technical staff (DC, EM, MK, BM) that takes care of the buildings, grounds, and utilities on the Group/Air Station complex. They also provide support for the local Coast Guard Cutters and the Tongue Point Aids to Navigation facility. The staff also manages the government vehicle fleet used by Group/Air Station Astoria.
For problems or questions during normal work days contact the Facilities Engineering office (503) 861-6261/6262.
After hours problems should be reported to the Group Command Center (503) 861-6211. The information will be passed along to the duty engineering response person. This includes after hours problems at any Group housing unit.
DIAL 911 in case of fire or natural gas leak... then notify the Group Command Center.
Submit requests for repair or problems with the civil engineering plant to Group Astoria Work Orders. This email request should include a point of contact name and phone number, along with a detailed description of the problem or facilities engineering support needed.
