U.S. Labor Department and Express Personnel Services Form National Business Partnership

Public-Private Collaboration Seeks to Match Employment Opportunities with Job Seekers

WASHINGTON—The U.S. Department of Labor today announced a national business partnership with Express Personnel Services, a full-service staffing and business solutions firm. The collaboration creates a bridge between the private sector and the federal workforce investment system, a key element of the President’s High Growth Job Training Initiative.

“The workforce investment system is partnering with employers across the country to assist workers in obtaining skills for the jobs businesses need to fill,” said Emily Stover DeRocco, assistant secretary of labor for employment and training. “With over 430 offices serving about 75,000 clients, Express Personnel broadens our ability to match qualified workers with good jobs in growing industries.”

Under the mutual agreement, applicants looking for employment through the Labor Department’s One-Stop Career Centers across the country may be referred to Express Personnel Services offices. This will give job seekers access to more employment opportunities in their local communities.

“Our franchisees will be communicating regularly with their local One-Stop Career Centers to help job seekers find employment,” said Bob Funk, founder and CEO of Express Personnel Services. “This collaboration could potentially speed the hiring process, matching job seekers more quickly with employers who have available jobs. Companies that use our combined workforce services will realize the benefits as they tap into a larger and more diverse pool of job seekers.”

Online services offered by the partners allow users to search for jobs, fill out applications or view information about potential employers. Visit www.expresspersonnel.com to access Express, or call (800) 652-6400. For Department of Labor information, visit www.careeronestop.org.

Express operates three service lines, including Express Personnel Services; temporary staffing/evaluation and direct hire; Express Professional Staffing; contract and executive recruiting and placement; and Express Business Solutions and customized workplace services.

The President’s High Growth Job Training Initiative is a strategic effort to better prepare workers to take advantage of new job opportunities in high growth sectors of the American economy. Through state and local partners, the Employment and Training Administration seeks to match job training and employment services with current employer needs.
